The Enggano Language Documentation and Lexicography: A Reflection

As the end-of-grant activity, the Enggano language research team will organise two events on 9-10 January 2025 (starting from 8.30 am for registration) at the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University: (i) a seminar reflecting on the long-term research on the documentation and lexicography of Enggano and (ii) a workshop on linguistic field methods and related tools (interactive flyer and descriptive details below). FOR CATERING PURPOSE, PLEASE REGISTER HERE by 2 JANUARY 2025 (5 pm Bali time).


Another event will follow the event on Enggano Island to deliver the Enggano textbooks (elementary and junior high school) and the learner’s printed dictionary.

Workshop details

Charlotte Hemmings and Gede Primahadi W. Rajeg will present an overview of linguistic field methods and the relevant tools (e.g., ELAN and Fieldwork Language Explorer [FLEx]) for linguistic data processing in the context of language documentation (e.g., transcribing recording and managing lexical data).
