KEEP SCHOOL CHILDREN LEARNING THROUGH COVID-19
FUND RAISING INITIATIVE BY CIRHSS & YAYASAN SURYA WIDYA KERTHI
KEEP SCHOOL CHILDREN LEARNING THROUGH COVID19: 100 MOBILE PHONES FOR DISADVANTAGED INDONESIAN CHILDREN
COVID-19 pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on education with 1.6 billion children worldwide unable to attend schools as reported by UNICEF. The change to online teaching has particularly impacted disadvantaged Indonesian children, who are typically from low-income families. Sad stories about this have spread in the Indonesian media; e.g. a mother was in tears desperate to have a mobile phone to help her child’s online learning, or a father was so desperate and stole a mobile phone to help keep his child’s education.
CIRHSS has initiated this fundraising program “KEEP CHILDREN LEARNING THROUGH THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC“, in collaboration with Yayasan Surya Widya Kerthi, a social education charity foundation set up by retired teachers in Bali-Indonesia. The aim of this fundraising initiative is to help provide 100 disadvantaged Indonesian school children across Indonesia with a mobile phone and Internet connection credits so that they can continue their education in this difficult time.
We invite you to give donation so that we can meet our target of 100 mobile phones by the end of 2020. Any amount of donation would be highly appreciated. If you are keen to participate in this fundraising program, please contact us at (cirhss@unud.ac.id), or Yayasan Surya Widya Kerthi (yayasan.surya.widya.kerthi@gmail.com). You can transfer your donation to us through PayPal or other means of online banking. We will acknowledge your donation and issue a receipt for this. We will also keep you updated with the delivery of mobile phones to the target school children.
